Squad Companion

Plan talents and get leader and follower macros for every character in your squad, for all nine classes. Runs in your browser, saves nothing online.

Plan your whole squad in one place: talents, guides and a macro kit for every character, for all nine classes. It runs in your browser and keeps everything on your own device.

Open the Companion

Build your squad

  1. Open Squad and press Add character. Pick name, class, race and role. Only race and class combinations that exist in Forever are offered.
  2. Add the rest of your squad. 2–5 is typical; up to 10 works.
  3. Click the crown on the character you lead with. Everyone else is a follower.
  4. On each follower, choose the unit that is the leader on that client: party1–party4 or focus. If in doubt, type /target party1 on that follower in the game.
  5. Set the levels. Link levels keeps everyone at the leader's level.

You can keep several squads, for example one on each faction.

Get the macro kit

  1. Click a character and open Kit.
  2. Copy each macro into that client (Game Menu › Macros › New, then paste).
  3. Drag the macros to the same action-bar slots on every client.

Leader macros use your own target. Follower macros try your mouseover first, then the leader's target, then their own. Heals go to your mouseover, then the leader, then yourself. Melee characters always start auto-attack. Hunters and Warlocks send their pet.

Every macro fits in WoW's 255 characters.

Prefer not to copy and paste? The WoWBoxer add-on builds the same keys inside the game.

Sequence keys (optional)

A sequence key casts the next spell in a list each time you press it. One press is still one cast. Switch it on per character, at Simple, Medium or Advanced.

  • Built in for Warlock, Priest and Paladin today. Paladin gets a priority key instead, because its attacks have cooldowns.
  • Spells you haven't learned are left out, so the key grows with your level.
  • Long cooldowns, channeled spells and spells that can fail and block the list are kept out on purpose.

Custom keys let you build your own sequence or priority key for any class, with warnings if a spell could stall it.

Talents and guides

Open Talents to plan points level by level. Pick a published guide, and the Companion shows the next point to spend. Every guide is labelled honestly:

  • Exact order – the guide gives every point in order.
  • Final build, order derived – the guide gives the end result; we worked out an order.
  • Priorities only – the guide gives priorities, not points.

Save and move your squads

Squads are saved in your browser on this device. Nothing is uploaded.

  • Export downloads a JSON file with all squads, or one squad.
  • Import reads it on another device or browser.
  • Clearing your browser data deletes your squads, so export now and then.
