Privacy

What WoWBoxer's website, window app, add-on and Companion collect: nothing about you. How video embeds and update checks work.

Short version: we don't collect anything about you. No accounts, no analytics, no ads, no tracking cookies.

The website

  • No accounts and no analytics. We don't use tracking cookies or analytics scripts.
  • Hosting. The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes your IP address and browser details to deliver the pages and protect them against abuse. See Vercel's privacy notice.
  • Videos. Our YouTube videos load only after you click play. Until then, nothing is sent to YouTube. After you click, the video plays from youtube-nocookie.com (YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode), and Google's privacy policy applies.
  • Fonts and images are served from our own site, not from third parties.

The Squad Companion

Your squads are saved in your browser's local storage, on your device. They are never uploaded. Export and import are files you handle yourself. Clearing your browser data deletes them.

The Companion loads spell and talent icons from Wowhead's image server. That server sees your IP address, like any web request. An offline copy without this is available on the download page.

WoWBoxer Window Layouts

  • No telemetry and no accounts.
  • Stays on your PC: your layouts, settings and logs, in your Windows user folders.
  • Reads on your PC: the list of running programs and windows (to find WoW), the account folder names in your WoW folder (so you can pick an account per slot) and WoW's display settings.
  • The only network call: an installed copy checks GitHub Releases for a new version when it starts. You can switch it off in Settings.
  • Diagnose reports hide your Windows user name. They stay on your PC until you share them yourself.

The WoWBoxer add-on

The add-on saves its settings in WoW's own SavedVariables files on your PC. It sends no data outside the game. If you turn on team status, your own clients exchange short status messages (level, mana, follow, target) through the game's party add-on channel. Only your party sees them.
