A trio covers the classic roles: someone who takes hits, someone who heals, someone who deals damage. It is where boxing starts to feel like running a real party.
Our trio: Paladin, Priest, Warlock
This is the squad WoWBoxer was built around.
- Paladin (leader). Tanks, heals itself, buffs the party with auras and blessings. You play it like a solo character.
- Priest (follower). Heals the leader through
@party1macros and adds Smite and Shadow Word: Pain on the leader's target. - Warlock (follower). Damage over time and a pet. A good fit for a sequence key: one key, the next spell each press.
Mana is the limit. The Priest and the Warlock run dry before the Paladin. Plan short breaks, and let the Warlock use Life Tap while the Priest drinks.
Other trios
WoWBoxer tips, not official advice.
| Leader | Followers | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Warrior | Priest, Mage | Strong pulls, but the Warrior needs careful healing. |
| Paladin | Priest, Hunter | The Hunter's pet adds a second front line. Easy to box. |
| Druid | Shaman, Warlock | Flexible: the Druid tanks or heals; Shaman totems buff the whole party. |
| Hunter | Hunter, Hunter | Three pets. Simple keys, strong solo leveling, weak in dungeons. |
Layout
On one 16:9 monitor: the leader on the left (about two thirds), two followers stacked on the right. In the window app: 3 clients, Main + side.
On a 1440p screen this gives followers of about 830 × 664. That needs a UI Scale of about 0.93 for the whole action bar. The window app's Auto-fit action bar sets it.
Keys
| Key | Paladin (leader) | Priest | Warlock |

How a fight goes
- Paladin: pull with 1, hold the monster.
- Warlock: 2 then 1. The pet joins the leader's target.
- Priest: 2 on the monster, 3 when the Paladin drops below about half.
- Loop through the windows until it dies. F on both followers.
Tip: pull one monster at a time until the loop feels natural.
Classic Era notes
The same trio works. Some spells differ (the Companion's Forever data has Bane of Agony where Classic Era has Curse of Agony), and talent trees differ. The Companion's macros are made for Forever; check them against your spells.
